GCSE revision

I have been away recently because I was given the dates for my science GCSE exams and they were a lot closer than I thought they would be so I have been busy revising for them. Because of this I have picked up some pretty helpful tips for when I do some revising and I thought I would share them with you.

1. USE  COLOURS! Use highlighters, gel pens, anything to make sure you have colour in your notes because it makes it so much more fun ( I mean it couldn't get much more boring could it?!)

2. MAKE A TIMETABLE! Make a timetable of your week and fill in any time you have spare to do some revising. But don't forget to leave time for a break so you don't have to work for longer than an hour.

3. GET RID OF THOSE DISTRACTIONS! Turn your Ipod, phone, anything that you don't need to revise and that may cause you to get distracted.

4. GET COMFORTABLE! Make sure you are comfortable, there is no noise and you have good lighting. I prefer to work at a desk but you may prefer to work on your bed, the floor or outside if the weather is nice.

5. ORGANISATION IN KEY! Try to keep all your notes in one place so you are unlikely to loose anything. I like to keep my papers in a Pukka project book as there are dividers for each topic and you can slot in any loose papers.

6. GET AS MUCH HELP AS POSSIBLE! Attend any revision sessions at your school as you can, buy any revision books from your exam board and school to assist you. Don't be afraid to ask your teachers to go over something or to help you, it is their job after all!

7. STAY HYDRATED! Always keep a drink or a (preferable healthy) snack near you so you don't need to go to kitchen during revision and possibly get distracted.

8. WEBSITES! There are loads of different websites that are so helpful to me, here are some of my favourites:
Get Revising- http://getrevising.co.uk/
ActiveLearn- https://www.pearsonactivelearn.com/
Memrise- http://www.memrise.com/
Quizlet- http://quizlet.com/
Bitesize- http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/

There are my top 8 tips for revising any set of exams you may have coming up soon. Good luck and try your hardest.
