Sugar Skull Halloween Look

It's October which means soon, annoying children will be knocking on your door asking you to give them sweets for free, something that is strangely only acceptable on one night of the year. If you were found giving sweets to children any other night, you would be arrested. Strange that, isn't it!

However, this also means that you need to start sorting out your Halloween arrangements with friends and deciding which terrifying character you will be on October 31st. Personally, I will be going as a Sugar Skull! So I thought you might be in need of some inspiration, here; Enjoy!

Step 1. Draw two circles around your eyes using a liquid or pencil eye liner; to get this even you may want to use a nude pencil eye liner first to plan it out. Fill it in with the eyeliner, I then went over my actual eye area on its own with a black eyeshadow instead to avoid creasing, but tip your head back to it doesn't fall down your face.

2. You then want to take a black eyeliner of any kind, although I wouldn't recommend a gel eyeliner as they can be quite difficult to remove. I used a black pencil eye liner and put little dots around the outside and then pulled it in towards to the centre.
3. Depending on your costume, take an eyeliner or eyeshadow of your choice of colour and create little dots between the black circles. For the nose, make two black lines outside the centre of your nose and one line across the bottom. Then draw two lines connecting them making two triangle. Or just look at the picture if that's easier, ahah.
4. Then draw an X connecting the two triangles and fill it in. Take a pale concealer and apply it to your lips to take out any colour, or just take a nude lipstick they both work just as well.

5. Take a black pencil or lipstick and fill in the centre of your lips so they appeal hollow and thin.

6. Draw joker style lines from your lips and add "stiches" across your lips. Draw an upside down heart of your chin in black eyeshadow or eyeliner. Then take the same colour of your choice and add two swirls either side.
7. Again, take the colour of your choice and add two eyebrow type things on your forehead. This may be easier if you take the nude eyeliner and plan it out. Fill the eyebrows in and add four black dots above them.

Ta'dah! You're finished. To style mine, I wore a black and white blouse with a black skater skirt and tights. I then took a black spider wed veil and tied it around my hair. With my hair I took two front pieces and twisted then back and pinned to add a retro/vintage-type look and sprayed it with dry shampoo to give it a white, ghostly appearance

Good luck with this if you do decide to go ahead with it but remember this is purely for inspiration, you don't need to do this exactly. Happy Halloween.
